From similar backgrounds, Aristo Gaspar connected through their love of cooking and creating new dishes. Aristo opened his first restaurant in Stafford, TX called Raizes Mexican Kitchen. In 2017 He developed catering services for local offices, venues, and car dealerships. His most notable partnerships are with the Houston Astros, Rockets, and our local Univision 45.

The team behind the concept of Roots Cafe has over 25 years of cumulative experience in the culinary industry. Roots Cafe focuses on creating healthy and tasty dishes through its authentic and unique seasonal menus. This new concept of an American fare kitchen with Latin flare brings Houston back to its Roots. You can savor the flavor for yourself at Roots Cafe, located on the first floor of the Decorative Center.

OUR TEAM

Aristo Gaspar studied culinary arts in Mexico City at the Escuela De Gastronomia Mexicana and received his certification in Mexican Gastronomy. Armed with this new education, he learned new techniques and flavors of the country. Before venturing out on his own, he had worked for the notable Cordua restaurant group for 25 years specifically at the Americas and Churrascos. His passion and love for cooking drives his creativity. Recently, Aristo was invited to participate in the Chef gala at the George R. Brown Convention Center. He has also collaborated with the University of Houston and Rice University
